The Helping Hand

The Helping Hand ministry is dedicated to financial assistance to those for whom a helping hand can assist in achieving a long term goal. The Helping Hand is for instances when some assitance will make a significant impact on the future of the applicant. The Helping Hand, when other sources have been exhausted, may provide the special encouragement and assistance to obtain specialized tools or training, medical treatment, those few credits to complete schooling, or other individual needs. Assistance my be given in the form of a grant or a loan in keeping with the provisions of the Trust.

Funds may not be used for temporary needs which, in the opinion of the Trustees, can be met elsewhere.

The fund was established to honor the life of David E. Camp, who in his short life provided assistance and inspiration to many. You may contribute to the fund by sending a check to OPC, where it will be administered by a member of the Trust. The fund is available to anyone without regards to race, religion, sex or age. An applicant must show evidence of a sincere desire to be a responsible member of society, and provide evidence that assistance could mean completion or attainment of a specified goal, such as someone who has been unsuccessful in his or her efforts, but whose goal is to find gainful employment.

If you need a Helping Hand, call the church office at 924-9750 to request an application. Your call, and all subsequent information you provide will be held in the strictest confidence.
