Children's Ministries

Welcome to OPC’s Children’s ministry. My name is Shannon and I am the Children’s Minister here at OPC. As the Children's Ministry Director, I oversees ministry for Birth through 5th Graders. Together with a team of volunteers we work to implement life changing ministries for kids and their families. In the meantime I wanted to introduce myself. I graduated from Whitworth College in 2004 with a BA in Communications and a Certification in Children’s ministry and in 2011 received my MA in Theology as well. For the last twelve years I have worked in just about every type of children’s program setting imaginable. I’ve been a tutor, an assistant teacher, a camp counselor, a Girl Scout leader, an after school tutor and program director, a child care worker, a bus driver, a youth director and for the last 4 years a Children’s minister.

In all of my time and experience working with kids I have discovered, teaching children they are loved and wanted by God is the most rewarding work I can do. I love serving in a church, being able to help families discover their identity as children of God. I started here at OPC in July and am excited by the ministry that is going on. I’m usually around the church office between 9:30 and 2:30on Sun, and Tues, and on Wed nights starting at 4:30.
